Simple Design Tips to Make your Home Office Feel Amazing
Back in April, I sat down to chat with Kat Elizabeth of the Personal Branding Project as part of her Instagram Speaker’s Series on Social Isolation Saviours.
Of course, we chatted design and I shared my 3 tips for upping your home-office game. The full video is below but here are the highlights:
Clear the Clutter
Get the Right Light
Meaningful Decor
And don’t forget, even if you don’t have a “proper” home office, these tips still apply. Carve out a bit of dedicated space for yourself and ensure it’s a spot where you can feel productive and happy. Make sure it is clutter-free so that you actually want to go to work there.
If you don’t have a good background for video calls, you can always upload a custom background too - but a real-life one is always best. Regardless, make sure you are properly lit (diffused natural light is best) and limit any distractions happening behind you.
And finally, add personal touches that remind you of why you do the work you do. That might be a photo of your family or maybe an inspirational quote. It could be something humorous to keep your spirits up throughout the day. Whatever it is, have it there with the purpose of increasing your happiness and productivity.
I hope these quick tips help! If you need more guidance around the design of your home office, get in touch or take a look at my virtual offerings in the shop.
