Inspired Room Transformation: Closet Reveal

It’s time to share another one of the reveals from the Inspired Room Transformation.

This time, we’re featuring Nancy and her walk-in closet.

When we began, the closet was a space that Nancy didn’t enjoy. It was packed full, not really organized and just felt heavy. What she wanted was a space that was almost like a retreat, where she could truly enjoy the beautiful items she has and would love getting ready each morning.

Before

Like so many of us, our storage spaces tend to get unruly if we don’t have a plan for them.

The work and the reveal

My first recommendation to Nancy was to read Marie Kondo’s book and take action on going through her clothing to determine what sparked joy. This is a big process for anyone and I’m so proud of Nancy for jumping in and taking it on. She ended up with multiple bags of clothing and items for donation! And now look:

The other amazing thing: this transformation had a cost of $0. She repurposed items she already had, from storage boxes to trinkets to artwork. All it took was some Marie Kondo magic, determination and hard work with a dose of creativity.

Oh and you know what - she now has all her clothing in this closet, not just the “in-season” items. This space has transformed into one of her favourites. She truly enjoys walking in and getting ready now. No more heaviness or feeling weighed down.

Nancy was so motivated by this transformation that she started working on another room in her home right away too! Let’s enjoy a few more images of her space!

In Nancy’s Words

“I really enjoyed the Inspired Room Transformation Program! I had been wanting to go through and clean out some rooms in my house and transform them into a space that made me feel calm and relaxed. I have tried so many times to go through and get rid of or organize my stuff but I was never able to let go of things, and therefore would always feel like my space was cluttered and unorganized. Once I signed up for this program I knew I had to do this because I was committed to completing the task. I had to hold myself accountable! After I did my first space, I had such a sense of calm and joy every time I entered the room! This lit a fire under me that I wanted to feel like this in all of my spaces in my house. So half way into the program I decided to take on another room in the house. I have both of the rooms done and I feel such joy when I am in either of them! I am so excited to continue on through each room in my house to create this calm and relaxing feeling throughout my entire house! Kierstin was wonderful to work with and I am very happy I took her program!
