So what is a Petit Design Concept?

I want to share a bit more about my Petit Design Concept offering so that it’s super clear what it involves. It is one of the easiest ways to work with me at a lower investment point. And you don’t just have to be in Edmonton to purchase this offering because the whole thing is done digitally. So let’s dive in!

An after photo of one of my client’s transformations from the Petit Design Concept.

Who this is for

The Petit Design concept is for you if you have a room that you’re stuck on. Maybe it needs a refresh, perhaps you’ve tried a few things but it doesn’t quite feel right, or maybe you are looking at a blank canvas with no idea where to begin. You know that you need some professional direction and are eager to put the plan into place once you have it.

Who this isn’t for

This isn’t for you if you prefer face to face interaction or want someone to manage a redesign for you. The full Design Concept offering is where you’ll want to go.

So how does this work

  1. It all starts with a quick add to cart and a purchase in the online shop. There is an option for a one room Petit Design Concept and a two room option. If you’re unsure what your space “counts as” (maybe it’s open concept) just reach out and we can help.

  2. Once the purchase has been made, you’ll get an email with information on next steps. This includes completing an online questionnaire and submitting photos and a video of your space. From there, you get to sit back, relax, and let us do the rest.

  3. We’ll review all the information you sent and if we need something clarified or a bit more information, we’ll reach out to you.

  4. We then move forward and put together a, you guessed it, Petit Design Concept for you - which is essentially a multi-page pdf document that provides you with direction on how to create your desired space. It usually includes inspiration images, links to specific products, tips and recommendations, and more.

  5. Once you receive it, we ask that you give it a review and let us know if you have any questions. From there, you get to implement!

Real life example please

It’s always easier to see some visuals, right? We’re going to use Kelly’s first Petit Design Concept as the example (yep - she’s even come back for another one!). Kelly and her family were wanting to create a family room that was well suited to how they liked to spend time together as a family. It had to be functional and also beautiful, and it had to tie in with the other areas that were connected to the room. She let us know what pieces had to stay, what they wanted to change, and what they were open to. She sent several photos from different angles so that we had a good sense of the space. She also provided some key measurements for the details that were important.

From there, we took that information and created a Petit Design Concept for her. It included a couple drawings, mood boards, inspiration images, links to products, paint colours and more.

From there, we answered a couple questions Kelly had and she ran with it.

I was so thrilled when she shared her after photos with me! I absolutely love how it turned out and even more importantly, I’m so glad that they love the space! Take a look:

Here’s what Kelly had to say:

After spending many years frustrated by not knowing what to do with our family room and fireplace (and many failed decorating attempts!), we decided enough was enough and reached out to Kierstin Smyth Design. We chatted about the options for working together and decided the Petit Design Concept was the best fit. It was an easy process of me giving her the info on the space along with how I wanted it to feel and then she took over and sent back a great document full of ideas for how to achieve what we wanted! We never would have thought of some of the things she recommended! The best part of the document was the shopping links. It took all of the guess work out of it as I looked at the items she suggested, picked one and ordered. Such a huge time and stress saver! She was quick to answer any questions we had and we got to work implementing the design. We love how the space has come together and we actually enjoy spending our family time together in the space now!

So if you’ve got a room that you know needs a little help, you can purchase a Petit Design Concept in the shop. I can’t wait to help you reimagine your space.
